About Hillside, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
The Village of Hillside is located in Cook County, Illinois approximately fifteen miles west of the city of Chicago. Hillside was first settled in 1833 by Frank Covell who purchased land there to build the area's first home. Incorporated on December 6, 1905, Hillside today has a population of more than 8,000 residents and continues to grow each year. The village lies in the humid continental climate zone of the U. S. and enjoys hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters with mild springtime and fall weather that make it a beautiful place to be any time of the year!
Hillside is served by the Metra commuter rail and Pace Suburban Bus services, and is easily accessible by Interstate 88. The village is host to numerous community events each year that provide residents and visitors alike with opportunities to mingle with friends and neighbors while enjoying the efforts and talents of featured activities and entertainment. Notable events include the community-wide "Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast" held each January to celebrate the diversity of the community, the "Youth Athletic Parade" held each April to kick off the little league sports season, and the "Movies in the Park" and "Taste of Hillside" events held in July and August.
The Epcke-Glos-Schierhorn Historical Site, circa 1877, is the oldest existing home in the Village and is maintained by the Hillside Historical Society. The society, which hosts numerous events and fundraisers during the year, recently released its Historical Commission Cookbook with sale proceeds going toward the restoration of the Epcke-Glos-Schierhorn house.
The active citizenship, local volunteers, and vibrant business community are working together to make the Village of Hillside one of the best suburban communities in Chicagoland!
